The good news is that Arizona is a wedding-friendly
state. To obtain your Arizona marriage license, here are a few quick details:
- No Arizona residency
is required.
- Effective February 2004, couples
must appear in person to obtain a license (the online application process is no
longer available).
- $50 fee contact
the Court of Clerks office before you go and inquire as to what method of
payment they accept. Most take cash or check only.
- Couples
can obtain either a standard marriage license or a covenant marriage license (for

- Marriage license is valid for one year
from the date of issue.
- There
is no waiting period after you obtain your marriage license.
- Marriage
licenses are usually processed within 15-20 minutes.
- Your
marriage license is valid anywhere within Arizona.
- Two
witnesses (at least eighteen years of age) must witness the wedding
and sign the marriage license after the ceremony.
