Couples share their
experiences that really made a difference. |
 | We
both wanted to have a wedding that was magical,
so we found the perfect place to get married on the deck of our new home
in Sedona! During the planning, we found the perfect minister to marry us. She
was so willing to allow us to change the ceremony and write our own vows. That
truly made it our wedding! Darrin Lane (Laura

| If its important
enough, you can make anything work! With a small intimate wedding, a full reception
with a band didnt seem practical, but we still wanted a wedding
song that we could call our own.
After careful consideration, we thought of the perfect idea to incorporate our
song into the celebration. We decided to have the lyrics written in
icing on our wedding cake! It made for a truly unique design, while at the same
time, allowing us to enjoy in the tradition. - Kristin Kovach (Kristin
and Christopher celebrate their wedding song in confection for their May 2002
wedding.) | |

We wanted to share our wedding day with
our family and friends, and we wanted a wedding that everyone would enjoy. We
had been to so many weddings in which you never saw the bride and groom because
they were trying to talk to everyone and thank them for coming. So we decided
to have a party at our house the night before, so that way we could talk to all
the relatives we hadn't seen in a while, and say all of our thank-you's.
Then on our big day we got to enjoy it along with our friends. I don't think we
ever left the dance floor! Everyone was dancing and having a great time with our
band. I still hear from friends how it was the best wedding ever!

| We originally
intended to get married in one of the few places in this country where it would
have been legal, but we decided that a wedding is really about standing in front
of friends and family and declaring your love and devotion
to each other. We also knew that some of our guests would be disappointed if our
wedding was too "straight" so we had some moments of levity including
the giant fake diamond ring that the ring bearer produced from a velvet box or
the bouquet toss my partner did in drag! Looking back on it, the day was a blur.
Yet, we both have such fond memories of the love and support we had from our friends
and family. - Craig Mayer (Craig and Rick
declare their love at their April 2004 wedding in Denver, Colorado.)
